The Ultimate Guide to Nugget iOS 26

Understanding the transition from SparseRestore to BookRestore. What works, what doesn't, and how to enable features on the latest iOS versions.

What Changed in iOS 26?

The MobileGestalt Patch

Starting with iOS 18.2 and continuing into iOS 26, Apple patched the original SparseRestore exploit used for MobileGestalt modifications. This means the old method of simply dragging and dropping a backup file no longer works for certain tweaks.

However, Nugget has evolved. While the original SparseRestore exploit is patched for some files, a new method called BookRestore allows us to continue modifying specific preferences.

Troubleshooting Common Errors

"MobileGestalt file is corrupt"

This often happens if the restore process was interrupted. To fix this:

  1. Restart your device.
  2. Re-run the Nugget application.
  3. Select "Remove All Changes" to clean up the preference files.
  4. Re-apply your desire tweaks one by one.
